Complaining about the conduct of your Councillor

On the 1 July 2012, as a result of the Localism Act 2011, Cheltenham Borough Council adopted a new conduct regime and Code of Members' Conduct

(The Codes of Conduct for Parish Councillors can be obtained from their respective Clerks, but it may be helpful to know that most are similar to the Borough Council’s Code).

If you think that a Cheltenham Borough Councillor, Co-opted Member or Parish Councillor has not followed the Code of Conduct and you wish to make a complaint, it must be put in writing to the Monitoring Officer either by letter or by using the complaint form and send it to;

The Monitoring Officer
Cheltenham Borough Council
Municipal Office
The Promenade
Cheltenham
GL50 9SA

You can email your complaint to the Monitoring Officer.

If you are unable to provide written details as a result of disability please contact Democratic Services by email or by telephone on 01242 264246.

The complaints procedure is summarised in our Information Leaflet.
