Briefing from Councillor Hay, Leader (if she has an update, or if O&S Members have questions for her)

Objective: An update from the Cabinet on key issues for Cabinet Members which may be of interest to Overview and Scrutiny and may inform the work plan

To include a regular update on the Household Recycling Centre from the Leader/Cabinet Member Waste, Recycling and the public realm.

Objective : To update O&S on the work being carried out by the Cheltenham Community Safety Partnership in response to the “Your experiences, your voice – Life in Cheltenham for young women” report and event.

Information/Briefing note from Safeguarding and Partnerships Manager – Tracy Brown and Head of Communities, Wellbeing and Partnerships – Richard Gibson.

Objective : To receive the Annual Climate Zero report.

Information/ discussion paper from Climate and Decarbonisation Manager – Mark Lawson

Objective : To nominate two representatives to represent Cheltenham on the Local Government Scrutiny panel involving all Councils from Gloucestershire.

 Budget Scrutiny Working Group  - update from a Member of Budget Scrutiny Working Group – next meeting is in July.

There are currently no active scrutiny task groups

To consider and approve the draft scrutiny work plan 2025/26 – the current draft plan – still hold items that were due at committee and are not in a position to be bought forward at the moment.  This will be amended after the O&S planning meeting.

The next meeting will be held on September 7^th 2026.
