Consultation process
Through multi agency information sharing and
business feedback, the Community Safety Partnership and ASB Town
Centre forum has prioritised the need for additional resources to
public realm enforcement in the town centre. The officer will work
in a holistic approach with Gloucestershire Police, Cheltenham Safe
and Cheltenham BID, this Community Enforcement Officer under the
CBC Public Protection Team will provide essential support to tackle
ASB and environmental crime in the town centre.
Finance Comments: CBC will be working in partnership to deliver the project to the full value of the grant. As a result, this should have no implication on CBC finances and budgets. The £10k funding will cover 3 months of the post on grade F (bottom scale), the second payment of £10k is expected to be received in January 2025, which will pay for further 3 months. Any difference due to the pay award, which is still being negotiated with the Unions, or employment above the bottom scale will be funded from the existing budget/vacancies.
