To award grant funding of £500 for the financial year of 2020-21 to Gloucestershire Action of Refugees and Asylum Seekers (GARAS) in order to support the work that GARAS provide in supporting both refugees and people seeking asylum within Cheltenham
Gloucestershire Action of Refugees and Asylum Seekers (GARAS) work with a range of agencies to inform and raise awareness of the issues facing those seeking asylum in the UK and also provide ongoing support and advice to refugees and asylum seekers within Gloucestershire. This involves provision of a weekly drop in service in Cheltenham and includes information, advocacy & advice on health, housing, benefits, immigration, law, education, employment, counselling provision for those suffering the effects of trauma and ensures that refugees and asylum seekers are getting the appropriate support.
