On 26 March 2026, Cheltenham Borough Council received a nomination form to list Parklands Community Centre as an Asset of Community Value. The nomination was submitted by the Parklands Community Centre charity (charity number 1180046).

In line with our agreed process, on 22nd April 2026, the nomination form was considered by an assessment panel made up of the Head of Communities, Wellbeing and Partnerships, a representative from One Legal and myself who as Director of Planning and Building Control, has the authority to make the decision under the Councils Constitution, part 3E.3 and Appendix A.

A number of points were identified during the assessment, and this resulted in further engagement with the applicant who provided additional evidence together with points of clarification with One Legal.

Further to the additional information and clarifications being made, I am now in a position to make a decision.


Following consideration of the nomination form, and supporting evidence, my decision is that Parklands Community Centre be added to Cheltenham Borough Council’s list of Assets of Community Value.

The nominator has been kept informed of proceedings and will be informed of this decision.
