To submit an outline planning application for access route options to the new crematorium.

Providing the right infrastructure to allow access to/from the new crematorium is key to the success of the scheme and any traffic impact on the surrounding areas must be carefully considered during the detailed design. Early publication of an outline planning application will help provide certainty about the provision of suitable access route and provides the public and other stakeholders with an early opportunity to influence the eventual main planning application which will be published later this year.

The only alternative is not to submit a planning application or to defer submission. Either of these alternative options would not provide certainty about the availability of a suitable route and would remove the opportunity for early public consultation ahead of the main planning application.

Consultation with the Cabinet Member Clean and Green Environment, Head of Property and Asset Management and members of the Crematorium Development Programme Board.

Submission of the outline planning application will itself lead to public consultation on the proposals.
