Decision details

Appointment of contractor for Crematorium Redevelopment project

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

To appoint a principal contractor to undertake the SCAPE framework project request services for the Cheltenham Crematorium Redevelopment project.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council requires an estimate of the works required and a programme for design and construction together with the completion of other activities in RIBA stages 0 and 1.

The feasibility work is an essential stage in the SCAPE procurement framework which the Council has adopted to progress the Cabinet decision to build a new crematorium.

A tender process has been carried out and the Tender Evaluation Report is exempt from publication by virtue of paragraph 3 of part 1 of schedule 12A Local Government Act 1972

Alternative options considered:

The only alternative option is not to request a feasibility study and choose a different procurement approach. This has been rejected as the Council has previously selected SCAPE as its preferred procurement approach.
