To enter into an agreement with Gloucestershire County Council for the administration of Land Drainage enforcement and consenting responsibilities associated with ordinary watercourses.

Reasons for the decision:

For the generation of income (£20k per annum) and to ensure effective service delivery within the borough.

 

This is the third year Cheltenham Borough Council will have entered into agreement with Gloucestershire Council for the administration of Land Drainage enforcement and consenting responsibilities associated with ordinary watercourses.

Alternative options considered:

Decline opportunity to enter into agreement resulting in missed income opportunity. The Council’s drainage engineer has advised that this work can be undertaken without undue impact on other CBC priorities relating to this work area.
