Is Key decision?: No

Decision:
To commission Pennington’s to support in
providing critical friend and expert advice around matters relating
to property compliance.
Up to a maximum cost of £45,252 Plus VAT.
Reasons for the decision:
Due to existing resource capacity, the Council
does not currently have the capability in-house to deliver all its
compliance requirements which Pennington’s would deliver
through the proposed contract. Given that this relates to
compliance, it is important that a contract is in place as soon as
possible to ensure that the Council is compliant.
The provider will provide best value for money, will ensure that
the Council is compliant with the Consumer Standards and is
inspection ready when inspected by the Regulator of Social
Housing.
Having previously been involved in reviewing the Council’s
gap analysis, providing compliance training and providing support
on inspection readiness Pennington’s are already familiar
with the Councils operating process and will be able to deliver the
work within our required timescales. Pennington’s are also
acknowledged as industry leaders by the Regulator.
