In respect of an offer of £24,000 from
The Gloucestershire Office of the Police and Crime
Commissioner:
To accept the funding agreement with the Gloucestershire Office of
the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) whereby a grant payment of
£6,000 per quarter will be paid to the Council. The grant
will enable the Council to undertake a process to commission the
delivery of detached youth work in key areas of Cheltenham
including Moors and St Pauls.
Reasons for the decision:
The Gloucestershire OPCC has been successful
in securing Safter Streets 5 funding from the Home Office. The
funding has been allocated to the Council to deliver the
following:
To commission a youth work provider to deliver detached youth work
in areas of Cheltenham including Moors and St Pauls. This provider
will refer to the consultation with young people being undertaken
by the St Giles Trust to develop an engagement plan.

Issues identified through No Child Left Behind
include the lack of youth services, reduced health and wellbeing
and increasing concerns of vulnerability for young people at risk
of criminal and OCG activities, particularly in the areas of the
Moors and St Pauls.
