To close Town Centre East Car park on 29th and 30th July 2023 so that some of the walls can be painted with murals as part of Cheltenham Paint Festival.
Reasons for the decision:
Many of the walls, stairwells and the lift in Town Centre East car park are covered in graffiti. The organisers of Cheltenham Paint Festival have made a request to include the car park in their 2023 events. The painting will take place over the weekend of 29 and 30 July covering walls and as many of the existing tags as possible. This will brighten up the car park and hopefully prevent further tagging. For the safety of those taking part on the festival and motorists the car park needs to be closed.
