Decision details

To extend the Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme to 30 September 2021

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Finance and Assets (Deputy Leader)

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Reasons for the decision:

NHS Test and Trace provided funding for a national “Standard” Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme and a Discretionary scheme.

On 13 October 2020 Cabinet approved the Discretionary Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme and authorised the Cabinet Member Finance and Assets, to extend the scheme beyond 31 January 2021, in line with Government direction and subject to funding being available.

Both the standard and the Discretionary scheme were extended to 30 June 2021 and confirmation has now been received from NHS Test and Trace that the schemes are further extended to 30 September 2021.

Additional funding will be available as required.

Alternative options considered:

The alternative is not to extend the scheme but as funding is available this is rejected.
