To Appoint Michael Dyson Associates Ltd to act as Architects for the redevelopment of three former garage sites at Somme Road, Burma Avenue and Devon Avenue, Cheltenham to provide circa 10 new affordable homes for CBC.  Providing RIBA stages 1-4 at Burma and Somme and stages 2-4 at Devon Avenue.

Following a recent procurement exercise, we now wish to formally appoint Michael Dyson Limited to act as Architects on three affordable housing schemes providing circa10 new homes for a fee not to exceed £3,355 per unit.

Not progress with the proposed redevelopment – rejected as the sites would remain redundant and unoccupied and not provide additional affordable housing into the HRA.

Appoint another company – rejected on the grounds that an alternative supplier would not be the MEAT appointment.

We have consulted colleagues internally (lettings, housing management, planned maintenance) who are supportive of the proposals.

Martin Stacy at CBC is also supportive of the proposal to add further affordable housing properties to its portfolio.

This procurement was undertaken following discussions with CBH at OWG and SHDG.
