Decision details

To appoint Hewer Facilities Management to provide gas servicing, maintenance and repairs at the 8Nr schemes within the housing stock that are served by commercial gas heating and hot water systems together with the installation of new boiler plant at two of these schemes, for a 5 year period with the option to extend for a further 3 years, with a total cost of £225,447.

All tenders received were analysed and evaluated and the most economically advantageous tender was received from Hewers Facilities Management and is duly recommended for acceptance.

This service is business critical to ensure continued legislative compliance with the Gas Safety (Installations & Use) Regulations and to not award a contract at this time would result in the need to re-procure and have an extended period with Liberty Gas providing the service outside of a contract. Of the other two tenderers, Liberty have withdrawn their tender and are no longer interested in this work whilst Glevum have ceased to trade. 

There is no guarantee that retendering would result in any improved result, particularly given the current issues associated with Coronavirus restrictions.
