Decision:

The Chief Executive Officer delegates authority to the Director of Environment to make the necessary changes to officers’ authorisations, pursuant to The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 and the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care’s designations in exercise of the powers conferred by regulations 8(12)(a)(iv) and 11 of  the 2020 Regulations, for the purpose(s) set out in regulations 8(12)(a)(iv), 10 and 11 of the 2020 Regulations.

Reasons for the decision:

To implement The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 by designating officers to ensure compliance with the Regulations.

Alternative options considered:

The authority can chose not to designate any officers under the Regulations.  However, it is important for the council and police to support each other in ensuring premises and individuals subject to the Regulations comply fully.
