To novate a contract for the renewal of old communal wiring and for the installation of emergency lighting in 66 communal stairwells within general needs blocks of flats from Vision Accendo Limited to NKS Contracts (Central) Limited

Reasons for the decision:

To enable the contracted to be novated to NKS from Vision Accendo who’s gone into administration and to allow the urgent works covered under the contract to continue as quickly as possible.

Alternative options considered:

To re-procure a new contract. This has been considered and rejected as it would take longer than novating and NKS’ costs are comparable to that of Vision Accendo.

One Legal confirmed that novation is permissible.
