Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No

Decision:
To approve the updated garage licence agreement for use by Cheltenham Borough Homes in performance of its functions under the CBC/CBH Management Agreement, dated 1st April 2015.
Reasons for the decision:
The attached licence agreement has been updated to reflect current working practices and includes a more comprehensive range of conditions. The main changes are as follows:
- Licensees will be permitted to keep something other than a car in the garage. The licence also makes clear that any goods kept there will be at the licensee’s liability, and that no dangerous substances are permitted.
- The license will be weekly instead of monthly, but the Notice period remain at 4 weeks.
- Rent will have to be paid 4 weekly in advance by direct debit. (Previously the licence did not specify the number of weeks that was required to be paid.)
- CBH will be able to end the licence immediately if any of the conditions are breached.
- The documentation makes it clear that this is a licence, and not a tenancy.
- The licence also makes it clear that the licensee will be recharged for repairs due to damage, clearance or lock changes.
- The licensee will be required to inform CBH of any changes in their address or personal details within 7 days.
- CBH will have the right to move vehicles blocking garages or access on garage sites.
Alternative options considered:
None.
