To appoint Faithful and Gould as NEC Supervisors for the first phase of the High Street East Improvement works.
Reasons for the decision:
Supervision of the works is required to ensure they are of the required quality.
Faithful & Gould will be appointed through the South West Consultancy Framework (SWCF) which provides an efficient procurement route ensuring best value for the Council.
Alternative options considered:
Not appointing an NEC Supervisor would jeopardise the quality of the completed works.
Different procurement routes have been reviewed with the support of Publica (procurement team), the South West Consultancy Framework offers the most economically advantageous solution to the Council.
