To approve a revised Executive Management Structure for Gloucestershire Airport Limited (‘the Company’) comprising (in addition to the current post of Managing Director) a Commercial Director, a Financial Controller and a Compliance and Operations Manager at salary levels recommended by the company Board of Directors.

Reasons for the decision:
The Executive Management restructure proposals are the company’s response to reviews undertaken by external consultants and the shareholding councils of the airport company in 2017. Both reviews proposed strengthening the governance and management of the airport in order to deliver the business plan aspirations for business growth and increased return to shareholder councils.
The revised structure will increase the skillset of the Executive team and strengthen management’s ability to manage the airport business through the provision of 3 posts with operational, commercial and strategic financial focus and capacity to support the Managing Director.
Alternative options considered:
A number of options were considered by the GAL board. The recommended option which delivered the aspirations of GA and the shareholders was considered and agreed by shareholders at a shareholder forum meeting on 4th December 2017.
Other reasons / organisations consulted
Overview and Scrutiny committee were updated on the proposed structure at a meeting on 27 November 2017. It was supportive of actions taken to strengthening the management of the company.
