Decision details

Sale of land at Ham Hill

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Finance and Assets (Deputy Leader),

Decision status: Recommendations approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

To sell Ham Hill to Dunkerton Properties Projects Ltd rather than Dunkerton Properties Ltd.

Reasons for the decision:

The original intended purchaser has requested and is opting to buy the land for the same price but has nominated a different company name. There are no changes to any of the other terms previously agreed with Dunkerton Properties Ltd.

Alternative options considered:

The property could be remarketed. Under the original marketing campaign this was the highest bid and the one that appeared to best align with the council’s own objectives for this land. Remarketing could put this at risk.

Other reasons / organisations consulted

·         The Ward Members had no objections to the sale proceeding.

·         Green Space will lose an income from DEFRA, but they understand the reasons for disposing.

·         Asset Management Working Group supported the proposed sale.

·         Further consultation was not necessary for the revised sale as the sale still represented best consideration but the Head of Property consulted with the Leader in the absence of the Cabinet Member Finance.

Consultees
