Outside body

Cheltenham Arts Council is a registered charity, whose prime object is to foster and promote the arts amongst the inhabitants of Cheltenham and surrounding areas, by working through the many voluntary societies in the town. The Council supports music, visual arts, literature and local history. 

The organisation receives an annual subsidy from the Borough Council, which enables it to operate a scheme offering grants to any affiliated society who may apply for financial assistance.

Cheltenham Arts Council also acts as a focus group to ensure that the interests of the arts in Cheltenham are properly represented in any new development taking place in the town.
