Decision:
To appoint Tersus Consulting Ltd under a five
year term, to undertake asbestos surveying and associated duties in
line with the attached Tender Report.
Reasons for the decision:
Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
CBC has a duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic areas such as the
communal areas of blocks, this includes for surveying such areas to
determine the presence and condition of any asbestos containing
material and for holding an asbestos register and making this
available to those who may come into contact with asbestos.
Under the Landlord and Tenant Act, Housing Act, Homes (Fitness for
Human Habitation) Act Defective Premises Act and The Environmental
Protection Act CBC is responsible for ensuring that homes are safe
and fit to live in whilst under the Health and Safety at Work Act
CBC has a duty to ensure the safety of those undertaking works
within their properties.
We have procured a new 5 year term contract to ensure that we can
continue to undertake asbestos management and refurbishment surveys
as required, together with reinspection of identified asbestos
materials to ensure they remain in good condition and if not to
inform remediation measures.
