To enter into a Host Agreement with the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games in connection to Cheltenham’s hosting of a visit of the Queen’s Baton Relay on Tuesday 5 July 2022.
Reasons for the decision:
The Commonwealth Games and Queens Baton Relay require each local authority area that it is visiting as part of its UK tour to enter into a standard Host Agreement.
This Host Agreement sets out the roles and responsibilities of the Commonwealth Games and Queens Baton Relay and the Authority as host.
There is no direct financial or commercial dimension to this Agreement.
Alternative options considered:
To turn down the opportunity for Cheltenham to host a leg of the Queen’s Baton Relay.
