Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

To extend the DiscretionaryTest and Trace Support Payment Scheme to 31 March 2022

Reasons for the decision:

NHS Test and Trace provided funding for a national “Standard” Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme and a Discretionary scheme.

On 13 October 2020 Cabinet approved the Discretionary Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme and authorised the Cabinet Member Finance and Assets, to extend the scheme beyond 31 January 2021, in line with Government direction and subject to funding being available.

NHS test and Trace has confirmed that both the standard and the Discretionary scheme are now extended to 31 March 2022 and will be fully funded.

Alternative options considered:

The alternative is not to extend the scheme but as funding is available this is rejected
